If you hadn’t noticed yet, we’ve posted our December event listings which is chock-a-block full of fun stuff all month. There’s craft markets, ferris wheels, santa parades, and so much more. If it’s too long to read, here are a few highlights that we think are definitely worth marking on your calendar!

North Vancouver Christmas Festival & Ferris Wheel

When: Saturday, December 2, 2017 (Ferris Wheel remains open until Dec 3)
Where: Shipbuilder’s Square, Lonsdale Ave
What is it: A family-friendly event that includes lots of free activities and a ferris wheel with the best view of the city! Also new this year is a Winter Artisan Market in the Pipe Shop. (more info)

Santa Claus Parade

When: Sunday, December 2, 2017
Where: At 12:00pm, the parade will begin at West Georgia Street and Broughton, travel east along West Georgia, turn south on Howe and finish at Howe and Davie.
What is it: More than 3,500 participants take part in the downtown parade with marching bands, festive floats, and community groups. (more info)

Yule Duel

When: Thursday, December 7, 2017
Where: Water Street, Gastown
What is it: Gastown’s annual Yule Duel draws together choirs from across Metro Vancouver for a magical, yet highly competitive, night of singing. (more info)

Make IT! Craft Fair

When: Thurs, Dec 7 – Sun, Dec 10
Where: The PNE Forum
What is it: Shop from more than 265 awesome artists, crafter and makers (Makies!). Get all your holiday shopping done and feel good about what you buy. (more info)

Night Shift: Supernatural Vibes

When: Thursday, December 7, 2017
Where: Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at UBC
What is it: Hear an all-female lineup of Indigenous spoken word and hip-hop artists, curated by emcee Suzette Amaya of SAMAYA entertainment. This event celebrates Northwest Coast matriarch voices to honor women’s stories, talents, and histories. Artists include JB The First Lady, Sister Says, Christie Lee Charles, DJ O Show, and Candace Curr. (more info)

Taboo Revue Burlesque Variety Show

When: Saturday, December 9, 2017
Where: The Wise Hall & Lounge
What is it: Enjoy a set of full of dreamy dances, glamourous group numbers, and hilarious comedic antics – All in Screaming Chicken’s signature burlesque style. (more info)

13th Annual Storytelling Championship Finals

When: Tuesday, December 12, 2017
Where: The Rio Theatre
What is it: The grande finale of a yearlong live storytelling competition. Ten of Vancouver’s best writers and performers tell original stories and compete for the title of 2017 Story Slam Champion. (more info)

The ‘Official’ SantaCon Vancouver 2017

When: Saturday, December 16, 2017
Where: Various Locations
What is it: People get dressed up as Santa, get drunk and run around Vancouver causing mayhem. 19+ recommended. (more info)

Weirdos Holiday Market

When: Saturday, Dec 16 – Sunday, Dec 17, 2017
Where: Betamax Studios (2244 East Hastings)
What is it: A hand-curated selection of vibrant vendors slinging witchy wares, anatomical curiosities, rogue taxidermy, collectibles, jewelry, textiles, one of a kind art, and much more. There will also be tarot card readings, great food, Music, Hot chocolate and some libations – obviously. (more info)

Harry Potter Christmas Burlesque

When: Sunday, Dec 17, 2017
Where: Rio Theatre
What is it: Grab a pint of Butterbeer and settle in! Jam packed with all your favourite witches, wizards, and magical creatures, it promises to be a night to remember featuring lots of your favourite burlesque dancers in Vancouver.  (more info)

Winter Solstice Lantern Festival

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

When: Saturday, December 23, 2017
Where: Commodore Ballroom
What is it: Celebrate the holiday season at the biggest, wildest, sweateriest bash of the season wearing the ugliest sweater you can find! (more info)

NYE Vancouver Fireworks Show

When: Sunday, December 31, 2017
Where: Canada Place
What is it: Free entertainment, food trucks, and a midnight countdown with fireworks over Coal Harbour. (more info)
