This weekend is chock-full of fun happenings, whether you’re into giant garage sales, car-free festivals, or mariachi bands. There’s something happening for everyone. Oh, and a little something called father’s day. So, if you’re trying to find something to do this weekend, look no further. We’ve got a list of just some of the highlights happening this weekend below:

  • Science World After Dark – Play like a kid without the kids in our newest original feature exhibition. Tinker and test inventions of your own creation, at our adults-only evening, 7pm–10pm
  • Eastside Flea Shop N-Bop – Select vendors, a DJ, artisan showrooms, pinball & pool, and seasonal drink specials! 6-10pm
  • North Vancouver Shipyards Market – Live music, a beer garden, food, art, music… Dogs are allowed and you can by things like jewelry, clothing, baking, organic meats, and much more.

  • West End Car Free Day Festival – Expect music stages and jam sessions to listen to, art being exhibited and created live on the street and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or something to drink.
  • Kitsilano Block Parties – Kitsilano does something different for Car Free Day. Instead of closing off a major street, people throughout Kits host block parties with their neighbours
  • Great Grandview Garage Sale – Enormous community wide garage sale spanning the entire Grandview Woodland Neighborhood. 10am – 2pm.
  • Red Truck Parking Lot Concert Series – Beer, food trucks, bands, DJ’s and sunshine in the heart of East Vancouver.
  • Scandinavian Midsummer Festival – Dances, displays, a viking village, bonfire, beer garden, traditional food, and a wife carrying contest! At the Scandinavian Community Centre in Burnaby.
  • The Gathering Festival –  Community bands perform with established professional bands, service groups set-up display booths, workshop participants exhibit their achievements, children play games, street youth walk on stilts, historical banners animate the park, there will be food, community information, games, health care and lots more.
  • Mariachi Festival – Grand finale of the 7th annual international Mariachi Festival!
  • MEC PaddleFest – A wide range of vendors exhibiting the latest paddling gear, boards and boats to test out on Vancouver’s stunning English Bay.
  • Eastside Flea Market – 50+ local vendors, 5 artisan showrooms, food trucks, an outdoor courtyard, music, pinball, and many more surprises.
  • Lost Girls Burlesque – The witchy babes of Lost Girls Burlesque are back for their season finale of vamp magic. Are you ready for the last drops of delinquency?

  • Father’s Day!
  • Main Street Car Free Day – The biggest of Vancouver’s Car Free Day festivals spanning 21 blocks, Main Street has 15 stages and mini festivals along the entire street

  • Richmond Night Market – The biggest night market in Richmond with hundreds of food and merchandise booths, giant dinosaurs, and lots more surprises.
  • The Sunday Service – A very popular weekly improv comedy show for comedy lovers
  • Pop Up Roller Disco – Classic roller rink vibes with big hair, short shorts, long socks, and all of the disco, funk, R&B and glam rock you can handle. Prizes for Best Costume! Free beginner quad and inline lessons from 6-7pm, and limited skate rentals will be available. 16+ age limit.
