Another beautiful weekend in Vancouver! Spend it doing something you love, especially if that includes protesting the hate that will be spewing at City Hall on Saturday…

This weekend’s major highlight is the PNE opening for the summer, with its free concerts, mini donuts, and the SuperDogs coming to town. If amusement parks aren’t your idea of fun, there’s also the garlic festival, Etsy craft market, and much more… Check out the highlights below:

  • Lord of the Schwings –  A silly, sexy evening of burlesque filled with all your favourite Hobbits, Elves, Wizards, and Creatures. The fires of Mount Doom aren’t nearly as hot as they are!

  • YVR’s Chill Out – Chill out at Larry Berg Flight Path Park with live music, food trucks, and free activities including YVR’s kid-friendly Passport Challenge with an opportunity to win free flights and YVR swag.
  • Starry Night – Sparkling lights and candlelit paths welcome you to Deas Island Regional Park at night. See a live owl, join a drumming circle and make a wish upon a star during this enchanted evening.
  • Veitfest – Vietnamese street festival celebrating Vietnamese culture with food, music, and dancing.
  • Our Cityride Cycling Festival – A festival area at David Lam Park that will feature a variety of Food Trucks, a Beer Garden, an Entertainment Stage, a Kids Zone, an International Expo Zone and a Bike Valet with a big bike ride rolling out at 5pm.
