  • Harvest Haus Oktoberfest – An Oktoberfest celebration held in a bigger location with more food, more games, and more entertainment. Food, merriment, and lots and lots of beer!
  • Oktoberfest at the Alpen Club – The annual Oktoberfest festival in Vancouver that has a traditional flair with live music, lots of beer, and games.
  • Vancouver Art Book Fair – Three rooms featuring 100s of artists and publishers from around the world exhibiting their printed matter and publications.
  • Vancouver International Improv Festival – Some of the world’s best improvisers will be in Vancouver for a week of mind-expanding and mind-blowing comedy
  • Fright Nights @ Playland – 8 haunted houses, 15 rides, and the Monsters of Schlock, oh and a bunch of wandering creepy monsters to keep you on edge all night.
  • 13th Annual Taste of Yaletown – Delight in an array of sharing dishes matched with perfect wine and cocktail pairings at set price tiers of $25, $35, and $45. A portion of profits from each meal served during Taste of Yaletown is donated to The Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
  • Geeks vs. Nerds: Aliens vs. Predator – The debate team Geeks vs Nerds is back to debate a decades old question: Which extraterrestrial alien is superior, the Xenomorphs from “Alien” or the Yautjas from “Predator”? Cheer on your favourite alien species as two comedic debate teams spar in the Planetarium Star Theatre!

  • Free movies @ Cineplex – Free movies at all Cineplex locations starting at 9am.
  • Nightmare Before Christmas Market – Costumes and curiousities abound! This indoor market has something for everyone, including activities for kids, and is not to be missed. (Located in New West)
  • UBC Apple Festival – It’s a festival about apples! Lots and lots of apples! $4 entry and an opportunity to learn more about one of BC’s favourite fruits.
  • Trout Lake Farmer’s Market – Visitors come from near and far to sample artisan breads & preserves, stock up on free-range and organic eggs & meats, get the freshest, hard-to-find heirloom vegetables and taste the first Okanagan cherries and peaches of the season.
  • Abracadaver Cabaret – Vancouver’s eighth annual horror show returns with ‘Mythology’ as the theme. Burlesque, music, theatre, and magic – all with a decidedly macabre twist. No minors, not recommended for the faint of heart.
