You could take restaurant recommendations from a friend, Yelp, or even from a stranger you met on the bus. But, you know what’s even better? Getting restaurant recommendations from a celebrity. Especially when that celebrity lists restaurants that are actually accessible, unlike some of the more pricey options that the rich and famous may turn to.

Recently, Chrissy Teigen posted on Twitter that she was in Vancouver. Seth Rogen responded with some swift suggestions for places to eat. Cheers to social media! Want to eat what Seth Rogen eats? Here are his suggestions:

phnom Penh chicken wings

Phnom Penh Cambodian Chicken Wings

A “what should I eat in Vancouver?” staple answer for anyone who has had to recommend a restaurant to a tourist coming to the city. Phnom Penh is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Chinatown that is always declared the winner of the best chicken wings in Vancouver. No contest.

What’s the secret to their deliciously crunchy, crack-like chicken? Maybe it’s better not to know, but nevertheless, it would be sacrilegious to not order the chicken wings. Unless of course, you can’t eat flour. For the gluten free gang, check out this food blog that has a Phnom Penh Cambodian Style Fried Chicken Wing Recipe that uses rice flour.

Go Fish Taco Truck

This hidden gem on the outskirts of Granville Island (follow the Seawall towards the Burrard Street Bridge and you’ll stumble upon it) usually has a long lineup of hungry customers waiting for fish & chips or “tacones”.

One of the city’s favourite fish and chip joints, Go Fish offers seafood that tastes incredibly fresh and delicious. They also feature daily specials featuring seafood brought in by the nearby fishing boats – sometimes including scallop burgers or ahi tuna sandwiches.

If you don’t want to wait in line, order take out on a cloudy/rainy day and enjoy it in your car or under the shelter of the Granville Street Bridge.

Hours:
Tue-Fri: 11:30am – 6:00pm, Sat-Sun: noon – 6:00pm

Richmond Night Market

What else could be said about the Richmond Night Market that hasn’t already been said? It really does have everything that you could ever want. Whether you’re into deep fried potatoes, octopus balls, bubble tea, BBQ fish (as in, the whole fish), or a phallic tube that’s full of ice cream, you can’t go wrong with the Richmond Night Market.

Check out our handy guide of the night markets in Vancouver before you plunge into the madness that can be found at the Richmond Night Market.
