So, there’s this thing… It’s called Nicholas Cage Burlesque. And for some reason, it’s actually incredibly popular. The event was introduced last month at The Rio Theatre to a sold-out crowd that came out begging for more. So more is what’s coming next weekend (Saturday, October 17th) at the Rio!
The show is being put on by Geekenders, the lovely people behind the Nerdlesque movement that has turned out some of the weirdest and wackiest themed burlesque shows in Vancouver (including takes on Star Wars, video games, and more).
Now, the troupe will be putting on a show to celebrate one of the weirdest and most-memed actor in show business, Nicholas Cage.
If you’re wondering what a Nicholas Cage burlesque act could possibly look like, just imagine extreme over-acting, masks, and lots of people shouting about bees (from the classic, The Wickerman)
If you want to be a part of this amazing event, tickets are on sale now for $10 a pop. It’s probably a good idea to purchase your tickets as soon as possible, because apparently there’s a huge amount of people who want to see burlesque acts based on Nicholas Cage.
NOT THE BEES!!! A Burlesque Tribute to Nicholas Cage plays at The Rio Theatre on Saturday, October 17th at 8pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. 19+ only!
