If you’re looking for something different to do this Halloween that doesn’t involve a cover charge, Parade of Lost Souls 2017 is the place to be on Saturday, October 28th. Returning to the Commercial Drive area at a secret location, this parade is not for the faint of heart but for the wild!
The event itself is a celebration for reflection and renewal. You’re invited to wear a costume and bring an instrument, join a dance or make your own dance. For 2017, the parade begins at 7pm and continues until 10pm (after party is at The Legion from 9pm – 2am).
The exact location of the festival is kept secret until midnight on the night before Halloween, when it will be announced on the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret Society website. As usual it will be in some part of the Commercial Drive area of Vancouver, near the Britannia Community Centre.
The Parade of Lost Souls 2017 is organized by, and for, the community it serves. It is a parade of spectacle and performance, an inclusive celebration for the thousands of lost souls that join it every year to meander along its route.
This year the parade celebrates The Altar Ego, where you are invited to follow your instincts and transform yourself into your own “altar ego”.
Leading up to the actual parade, there are several workshops to learn choreography, music, and costume making. More information is available on the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret Facebook page.
