Not into trees and nature and fresh air? All you urban athletes are in luck, because the Urban Grind at Harbour Centre’s Lookout Deck is coming back this month. Last year, this was an extremely popular event that attracted around 3,500 stair climbers.
The extreme workout has you climb up 633 stairs to reach the top of the 28 story building to reach the Harbour Centre’s Lookout Deck. But, unlike the Grouse Grind, you’ll be rewarded with more than a bucket of sweat at the top of the climb.
The Urban Grind will be open on Tuesdays in March from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, which means on March 7, 14, 21, and 28 you can get your Urban Grind on!
There is a $5 cost BUT the experience also includes a free beer at the top and a free $5 coupon to Harbour Centre’s lower level food court. So, essentially you’re almost MAKING money by walking up a bunch of horrible, seemingly never-ending stairs.
If you’re looking to climb the equivalent of the Grouse Grind, you are permitted to ascend and descend the stairs as many times as you desire. To be more precise, it will take about five climbs to complete the Grouse Grind equivalent (that’s 2,965 stairs!).
