Hot dog! One of the most exciting events of the summer as the Hastings Racecourse goes to the dogs for two weekends this June and July!
If you’re a fan of corgis and daschunds, or just dogs in general, you’re not going to want to miss these events.
June 22/23 Corgi dog racing
The Corgi Craze all began with a long line of corgis bred by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace many years ago. The Corgis made their Hastings debut last year and were a huge hit.
Live horse racing begins at 1:50 p.m. with the corgi dog races occurring in-between on both June 22 & 23, 2019. As always, there is no admission to enter on site. Food trucks, craft beer, and live music all afternoon while the excitement happens trackside.
July 13/14 weiner dog racing
The OG dog racing at Hastings Racecourse is still as fun as can be, pitting daschund against daschund to see who has the fastest dash in a race to see who’s the best of the best! Weiner dog races run on July 13 & 14, 2019.
The whole event is hilarious and is a great excuse to check out the Hastings Racecourse itself.
As in the Corgi dog racing, the weiner dog races will take place between the live horse racing that begins at 1:50 pm.
If you’ve never bet on a horse before – put down a twoonie on the craziest name. It’s the most fun you’ll have losing a twoonie than ever before! Or, if you’re really lucky – you’ll actually win some cash!
