SNAG Art is celebrating their 10 year anniversary tonight 8pm at The Cobalt.
A live painting event with some very well known Vancouver Artists.

We caught up with one of the contestant to see how does ot feel to be part of this commotion 🤓

-What's running through your mind regarding painting live at @snagart 10 year anniversary tonight?

"I have doubts," says contestant @amysaysamy.

-Oh Amy🤦🏽‍♀️ Let's try that again.

"I'm Ready to paint my lil' hands to the bones!"
"But really though, I'm excited and stoked to see what all the artists create tonight."

The Frontliners, a comedy until November 13th at the Waterfront Theatre

"I hope audiences connect with the characters. That’s really the thing I love about writing plays.
The idiosyncrasies of speech and how revealing it can be of character inspires me a lot. My first play, The Wrong Bashir, had a cast of 10 characters, so the backstory and opportunity to really get to know each was limited. In this play however, there are only three.
I also hope audiences get a glimpse of what happened behind-the-scenes in 2016. Although the re-settlement of Syrian refugees was highly publicized in Canadian media, less was shown about the workers occupied around the clock to pull off one of the fastest resettlements in the
country’s history. My sister, who saw the first reading of The Frontliners in 2019, told me after, “
'I feel like this is a play about the people no one really thought about,' and I was so happy with that."

BIV's Brenna Reel Review sinks her teeth into the on-screen relationship of female vampires to male vampires leaving us thirsty for more...

"Traditionally, only one woman survives a vampire film, any others are killed off. Those who transform are likewise not given the opportunity to become threats of their own. They’re more obstacles for the heroes to bypass or kill. Beyond this literal treatment, the very language used to describe women and vampire women implies that these early works are concerned about what a powerful woman could do, and thus try to contain those implications, the horror of what they represent. Simply put, their existence proposes something monstrous, even before they act monstrous, making them far more horrific than a figure like Dracula."
