New: Click here for the updated post for the 2017 Parade of Lost Souls…
If you’re looking for something different to do this Halloween that doesn’t involve a cover charge, Parade of Lost Souls 2016 is the place to be on Saturday, October 29th. Returning to the Commercial Drive area at a secret location, this parade is not for the faint of heart but for the wild!
The event itself is a celebration of light, music, fire and death, with amazing costumes, fire dancers, roving musicians and more. The parade begins at 7pm and continues until 10pm (after party is at The Legion from 9am – 2am).
The exact location of the festival is kept secret until midnight on the night before Halloween, when it will be announced on the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret Society website. As usual it will be in some part of the Commercial Drive area of Vancouver.
The Parade of Lost Souls 2016 is organized by, and for, the community it serves. It is a parade of spectacle and performance, an inclusive celebration for the thousands of lost souls that join us every year to meander along its route.
This year the parade celebrates The Wild, where you are invited to follow your instincts and transform yourself into a ‘wild thing.’
Leading up to the actual parade, there are several workshops to learn choreography, music, and “creepy creature felt masking”. You can learn more about the workshops and the event at the official Parade of Lost Souls 2016 website.
