Whether you’re after a green beer or a pint of Guiness or just a bowl of Lucky Charms, make sure you make an extra toast to the Emerald Isle this weekend to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! This year, there won’t be a parade, but there are still lots of Celtic-themed events going on throughout the weekend. Check out the list below:

Celtic Fest Vancouver 2017

When: Friday, March 17 – Saturday, March 18
Where: Various locations
What is it: Vancouver streets, concert halls, and pubs resound with the sights, sounds, and vibrant spirit of Celtic culture. (more info)

St. Patrick’s Day at the Blarney Stone

When: Friday, March 17 from 9am to 3am
Where: Blarney Stone (216 Carrall Street)
What is it: The Blarney Stone has closed down Carrall Street to welcome families to an outdoor festival with Irish pipers, Irish dancers, face painters, and stilt walkers. Live music will play all day and night, featuring The Doolins, The Shenanigans, and more. (more info)

Annual WISE St. Paddy’s Day Bash

When: Friday, March 17 from 9am to 3am
Where: The Wise Hall (1882 Adanac Street)
What is it: The return of a legendary Vancouver St. Patrick’s tradition with the one and only Shane’s Teeth (THE Pogues tribute band) and Special guests Still Spirits and The Staggers & Jaggs. (more info)

Sonic Boom Festival

When: Saturday, March 18 – Sunday, March 19
Where: Various venues
What is it: Three acoustically beautiful venues in Vancouver will find themselves surrounded by the sounds of BC’s vibrant, contemporary, classical music scene. (more info)


When: Saturday, March 18 from 11am to 3pm
Where: 6359 Agronomy Road
What is it: You don’t need an airplane ticket to experience the craziness of HOLI! Just head up to UBC on Saturday for a big, colourful party! There will also be mouthwatering Indian food, and the best Bollywood DJ in town! (more info)

SMOC Bizarre Bazaar

When: Sunday, March 19, 2017
Where: Hycroft House (1489 McRae Ave)
What is it: The Society for the Museum of Original Costume (SMOC) is hosting their first ‘Bizarre Bazaar’ with Vendors from Vintage to Modern Clothing and Accessories. (more info)

Sunday Service Comedy Show

When: Sunday, March 19 at 9:00pm
Where: Fox Cabaret (2321 Main Street)
What is it: Every week, come laugh with the funniest kids in town, the Sunday Service. For comedy lovers in Vancouver the Sunday Service is a weekly ritual. (more info)
